Step 1 : Assembly of the Version 4.0 base frame

Foamcube Version 4.0 (white) came to market in December 2016 and is now available to order. It is the last and best CNC foamcutter in the line of Foam Cubes and is now the only foamcutter that can be ordered as a complete kit. The kit comes in various sizes and has everything you need to build your own fully functioning foamcutter in as little as one hour.

tools needed : Hammer , screw-gun

Check the contents of your base frame kit. It consists of 8 T-connectors, 8 corner connectors, 8 long aluminium tubes, 4 medium size tubes and 8 short tubes. Next please read through the entire post before starting your assembly. Some parts may have been pre-built or may look different from the pictures.

Take 2 corner posts and 2 long tubes to create a full side of the Foamcube.

* Some kits may have horizontal guide-rails already attached to the longĀ tubes as shown in the second picture below. Please mount the tubes with the rails attached between the cornerposts. Make sure the rails are on the same side as the corner connectors sticking out.

Do this twice

Finally connect both sides using the 4 remaining long tubes *. Once your cube looks like the picture below check all black connectors to make sure they are seated all the way in and your cube is rigid and square.

If your cube does not yet have the guiderails attached then mount them to the frame usingĀ 3 self-tapping screws (included). Pay attention to the orientation of the screw-heads. set 2 screws in the top of the rail, and one scres in the bottom, so that later the gt-2 belt can run along the rails without hitting the screw-heads.

Eventually your cube should look like the picture below.
